2025 Recap — Deutsches Museum

Arrival & Context

I visited the Deutsches Museum during its 100th anniversary year. Entry was 15 EUR. I arrived around 3:00 PM, with closing at 5:00 PM—not nearly enough time.

A Small Surprise at the Ticket Desk

The ticket officer turned out to be Thai. I didn’t notice at first—until she asked if I was Thai after spotting my Thai-issued credit card. A warm, unexpected moment. Kindness travels well.

What I Explored

Robotics: The first section I entered and overwhelming in the best way. Real robots across eras, showing the clear evolution of robotic technology over time.

Turbine Engines: A standout, especially for kids. Highly interactive, broken into clear components with simple explanations of purpose and function. Learning by touching and seeing.

Aviation & Railways: Modern aviation displays and detailed railway models explaining how trains operate and are conducted.

Takeaway

Even with limited time, the museum left a strong impression—thoughtful, hands-on, and beautifully curated. Two hours barely scratched the surface.

Note to Future Me

I will return. This place rewards patience.

เจ้าหน้าที่ขายบัตรเป็นคนไทย ตอนแรกฉันไม่รู้เลย จนเธอถามว่าฉันเป็นคนไทยหรือเปล่า เพราะเห็นบัตรเครดิตที่ออกโดยธนาคารไทย เป็นโมเมนต์เล็ก ๆ ที่อบอุ่นมาก ดีใจที่ได้พบคนไทยในที่ไกลบ้าน

สิ่งที่ได้สำรวจ

หุ่นยนต์ (Robotics): โซนแรกที่เข้าไป และน่าทึ่งมาก มีหุ่นยนต์จริงจำนวนมากจากหลายยุค ทำให้เห็นการพัฒนาของเทคโนโลยีหุ่นยนต์ตลอดเวลา

เครื่องยนต์กังหัน (Turbine): โซนนี้โดดเด่น โดยเฉพาะสำหรับเด็ก ๆ เพราะเป็นแบบอินเทอร์แอคทีฟ แยกชิ้นส่วนให้เห็นชัด อธิบายหน้าที่และการทำงาน เข้าใจง่ายและสนุก

การบินและรถไฟ: มีการจัดแสดงการบินสมัยใหม่ และโมเดลระบบรถไฟ แสดงให้เห็นว่ารถไฟทำงานและควบคุมอย่างไร
